Attack on Titan and Marvel Comics Crossover Confirmed

In a surprise announcement, Marvel’s C.B. Cebulski revealed on his Twitter account that the monstrous titans from the hit manga series, Attack on Titan would be crossing over into the Marvel Universe in a manga to be released in late November 2014.

In a series of tweets, Cebulski reflected on how much he loves crossovers and how excited he is for this one.

I loved “Marvel Team-Up” and “What If?” as a kid. I would spend hours dreaming up my own crossovers & alternate reality stories. As I got more into manga, I always imagined how cool it would be for the Marvel characters to cross into the pages of manga worlds. For many decades & multiple reasons, almost no manga, especially popular titles, crossed into other comic universes… until now! If you ever wondered, “What if the titans from Hajime Isayama’s “Attack on Titan” attacked the Marvel universe?”, you’ll find out soon!! Not a joke, folks. Attack on Titan and the Marvel Universe are crossing over! In 2 weeks. In Japan.

Everything You Need to Know About Boruto: Naruto the Movie

Who is Boruto?

Boruto is the son of Naruto Uzumaki (the main character in the Naruto and Naruto Shippuden anime series and movies) and Hinata Hyuga. He has a sister, Himawari.

What does “Boruto” Mean?

Boruto is meant to rhyme with Naruto though is actually the Japanese pronunciation of the English word, bolt when written in the Katakana Japanese lettering system. The meaning of bolt is literally that of the physical metallic object as seen from the bolt imagery used in the letter o in the movie’s logo.

There is also the possibility of a second meaning as Boruto’s grandfather and Naruto’s father was often referred to as being able to move as fast as a bolt of lightning when performing his teleportation attack and was able to power up to a Lightning Release Chakra Mode.

When is Boruto: Naruto the Movie Set?

Boruto: Naruto the Movie is set several years after the end of the main events in The Last: Naruto the Movie, though only a couple of years after the post-credits scenes

I Found a Site Online That Helps Me Remember My Life Back Home

I never realized that I would be homesick until I moved to this country and found myself yearning for so many things that I had been around all my life. I didn’t want to feel that way, but it happened anyway. I used to race to my grandmother’s after school each day to watch Japanese dramas with her. Then we would discuss them together after each show ended. I missed them so much. One day, I decided to do a search online and found out that I can watch them here in the US. Jdrama is the name of the site that I go to. It does not cost me a thing to view episodes there. It reminds me so much of my time spent with my grandmother.

My grandparents were some of the best people that I have ever known. Continue reading →

Anime Series that Should be Live Action Netflix Series

A Live Action Naruto TV Series

With the numerous Marvel Netflix series beginning soon and even a potential live action Zelda Netflix television series in the works, let’s take a look at some anime series that would make awesome transitions from animation to a live action TV show.

These series may be a hard sell to most mainstream channels but would be great additions to Netflix’s growing original program lineup.

The first anime that deserves the live action treatment is the popular anime series, Naruto.

Based on Masashi Kishimoto”s hit manga (Japanese comic book) of the same name, Naruto is both a coming of age story as well as a martial arts epic with a healthy dose of human drama and comedy thrown in to really keep things interesting.

Naruto’s bizarre world, which is a blend of modern day cities and small ninja villages lends itself well to a TV budget with the option to set entire episodes within the modern city locations and while the cast of characters is absolutely huge in the anime, the majority could be cut to focus more on the main trio of characters; Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura with very little impact

The 6 Most Popular Anime Series that Everyone Is Watching

1.  Naruto Shippuden

Starting way back in 2002, this juggernaught of an anime franchise has recently begun to wind down with an epic finale to its second series, Naruto Shippuden in the movie, The Last: Naruto the Movie. Just because there’s no regular Naruto anime series now, doesn’t mean its completely finished though. A special movie focusing on several characters’ future children called, Boruto: Naruto the Movie, came out in 2015 and there’s a good possibility that more films and specials may be on the way.

If martial arts, magic and demons are your thing, this humorous, dramatic and action packed series may be for you.

2.  One Piece

Similar to Naruto, One Piece features a blend of action and story with a slightly more generous helping of comedy. Running continuously since its launch in 1999 and now with well over 600 anime episodes (find out how to watch all these episode for free here!) and several One Piece movies, this anime about a crazy group of pirates has attracted a loyal fan base that has continued to grow more and more every year.

A Magical Sailor Moon and Star Wars Mashup

One of the more enjoyable aspects of fan art is the level of creativity shown by artists who are passionate about their favorite series. The more memorable creations are the ones that throw caution to the wind and really think outside the box by putting characters in situations they wouldn’t normally find themselves in or even mashing two completely different genres together! Anime is cool. Star Wars is cool.
